Tech article - SCIO

This pocket scanner scans the molecular structure of objects, foods and medications and almost everything you can think of. It then gives the chemical data of that object through an app you install for that purpose. It does so by analyzing the wavelength of the light that is affected differently when reflected off of different types of molecules. It's a complex method of decoding optical signature of different types of molecules. You can pre order it for 250$. It will come out in late 2016.

Microsoft and Google agree to end all regulatory complaints against each other

Microsoft and Google have reached an agreement to end all regulatory complaints against each other around the world, and have agreed to work together to settle any future issues themselves before filing official complaints.
In a statement to Recode, Google and Microsoft said the companies should be competing on products instead of focusing on legal proceedings. "Our companies compete vigorously, but we want to do so on the merits of our products, not in legal proceedings." Google told Recode.
A representative for Microsoft echoed those sentiments. "Microsoft has agreed to withdraw its regulatory complaints against Google, reflecting our changing legal priorities," the representative said to Recode. "We will continue to focus on competing vigorously for business and for customers."

Self cleaning clothes-03-24-2016

So as you might know, we have already created and marketed water-proof clothing. The tech they use in it is nanotechnology

But now those clothes can even remove food stains. The technique behind these self-cleaning textiles is quite interesting. Copper and silver-based nano structures are already famed for their ability in terms of absorption of light. When these nano structures are infused into the fabric and exposed to light, they subsequently break down the organic matter such as stains from food products that are present on the cloth, making it clean.

The team of scientists figured out that by treating fabric with certain solutions, these nanostructures were able to grow steadfastly onto the textile within a span of half an hour. Thereafter, as soon as they were exposed to light, energy is released and the varied organic compounds present on the fabric degrade and disappear. It was observed that the textile cleaned itself inexplicably within just 6 minutes.

Do now

My winter break was composed of rest, sleep and little amount of travelling.I did something of everything and still mostly nothing. The only place i went out was Lake George,NY just to see an abandoned city that will now open in summer. It was fun to ski in a ski resort even though i don't know how to, near Lake George which was luckily not abandoned.

  2. *.* Well there are certainly many programs that you can download on PC that can store information and makes easy to organize it.You can also do it through social networking sites.

  3. *.* What have you learned from researching the above topics? What do you know now about those current events that you didn’t know before?
  4. *.* The middle east situations and the vaccines recently discovered to treat Ebola. Also somewhat on the topic of marijuana legalization.

  5. *.* What are other social bookmarking apps/websites?
  6. *.* I apparently have no idea on other sites than Diigo

  7. *.* Will you continue to use social bookmarking?
  8. *.* No i would prefer to just bookmark the page or find the page for a minute or two in browser history because social bookmarking is too lengthy and complicated of a process

Do Now 12/15

The fact that humans are new to this cold and ruthless universe fuels my desire to make this world a better place. The laws of the universe we live in attracts us again and again towards wars and instability but the free will of human mind demands peace and progress. That fuels my will to fight for those two things. And my life goal right now is to first research on the way the world works. That might for right now not affect the community much.

                                                                Favorite restaurant

Olive Garden-Bergen town Center,Paramus,NJ

They serve mostly Italian food, sandwiches and desserts, drinks, appetizer, etc. I chose Olive Garden because Olive Garden has too many varieties and its food is really tasty. It is also cheap and the service is great.Olive Garden also serves specials like Lasagna Fritta and also serves combo meals. My personal favorite from the Olive Garden is Lasagna Fritta indeed.

This is a family restaurant and can be a good choice in birthdays or gatheings. They serve brownies, cakes and the staff will even celebrate your birthday in the restaurant if you want to.I love this restaurant as the staff is really friendly and there are too many choices available. If in case the Olive Garden goes out,I would prefer Chipotle as Chipotle gives the freedom to make anything you want to from a bread.

Lasagna Fritta is on the menu at Olive Garden!

Bruschetta is on the menu at Olive Garden!Classic Italian Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich is available at Olive Garden!

Olive Garden was first opened on December 13, 1982 in Orlando. The average check per person was 15 $ which is comparatively cheaper than its competitors.Olive Garden has around 820 locations worldwide including in Canada, Mexico, Kuwait and Brazil. It is headquartered in Florida.Yelp on Olive Garden has decent reviews and Google Maps on the nearest Olive garden shows it's location.

Tech post friday

3D Printing Organs

So there is this new emerging technology of 3D printing an organ. It prints an organ through an inkjet introducing a mixture of bio gell, human cells and proteins onto a tray.It can certainly print any human organ, capillaries and small veins but is not launched to public as the way it is done is too complicated and hella expensive.A bio company even transplanted a 3D printed liver which worked
well for 2 months. It is far from mass usage right now but it might be out in Walmart a decade later.

                              FLUX 3D Printer:Nothing normal
FLUX all in one printer is a 3D printer that can engrave through lasers, print objects faster than any other printer on the market and it can also scan objects so that you don't need to draw a whole blueprint in the software,it just scans your old toys and makes new ones.It has OPEN MODULE SDK which allows professionals to upload new designs of new objects on that open source website,so that you can print it right through.

It surely isn't cheap at around 679$ including safety glasses, two 500 Grams plastic rolls and laser engraving module, but those bucks makes you able to print anything.Imagine a design, draw it and press print...

Wiki Research

1. How can a wiki be used in a current class on your schedule (not this course)? Pick a class and be specific how the class could create and use a Wiki on a regular basis (tip: Use the Internet, here is a good source)
1. English is a good choice as there are too many students in the class. They can use it to improve communication skills with other students and also through wiki they get the time to think and then type instead of giving an instant answer and mess it up.They can use it for projects and homework.

2.What are the benefits of using a wiki in class
2.Using Wiki can give students the time to think and then speak off.It can also used at home as a chatting service to inform other peers of the due projects and homework.

3.How can we create a wiki in this class, what would we contribute to it and how would we utilize it on an on-going basis?
3.We can create a wiki in our class to keep in touch with the latest class news.It can work as an in-class news channel.

4.What experience do you have using or creating wikis?

Weekend

This weekend i was gone on a trip with my parents. We went to a mountain in New York by drive for some scenic places and fun.We roamed around the catskill mountains.Other than that,i played soccer for 15 minutes with two unknown kids in an open private field near the mountain. It is kind of weird but this weekend i made unknown rural friends which were very nice and friendly.Just for 10 hours and we were home back for the daily routine.

Samsung launching a bendable phone:The technological Olympics

So in 2015 samsung is planning on launching it's bendable phone which is not a phone in it's
true sense. It is a chromium sheet with amazing flexibility and software embedded in nano
diamonds. It is the most athletic phone in the technological Olympics.
Samsung_flexible_AMOLED_phone

It's not really so fictitious as many designs have already been proposed and chances are there is not just samsung planning for such a lightweight and thin phone.Undoubtedly it is a true technological beast. But considering the technology it uses,it also saves a heck amount of resources as the only thing used in making it is some sand, plastic and a little chromium, diamond(in nanograms) and aluminium.

HTC's RE is an ultra-wide 146 degree lens with an advanced and compelling design. It is a 16MP,waterproof 1080P technological beast. It has everything like an average camera but it is too recherché to find a design like RE has.

It is available for pre orders now is going to launch in the markets in the first week of November. It is priced at 200 $ and might plummet as it launches.

Wikipedia:Editorial Response

An editorial is a newspaper article written by or on behalf of an editor that gives an opinion on a topical issue.By that sense, this editorial is an editorial. My teachers have told me that Wikipedia is an unreliable source. It is like an open source where anyone can edit the information. They told me that many of them are not educated or trusted enough to rely on.

Teachers don't allow me to use wikipedia because they don't trust whether the information wikipedia gives is the right one.And somehow it is legit because editors can be anyone.Even the ones that are practicing editing. That's like allowing infants to drive cars.I have asked once the question "WHY" and the answer given to me is this paragraph.

Although i do think Wikipedia is a cool place which gives freedom to read and share for free and without any advertisements. But at the same time, the article did not changed my views. It just gives me the sense of "I was right".It is regulated but by very few employees which means wrong information can spread like a fire because the extinguishers are ineffective. It is more of an opinion based software than of fact based.

                                                 Solar roadways

The solar roadways is a concept to modernize the road system. It is made up of glass and photo receptors which can collect solar energy. The glass can bear up to 250000 lbs. and the layer above that glass provides traction. The energy stored is then used in displaying the roadway markings.Asphalt that is used in roads is a compound extracted from the oil.Oil crisis will make it difficult to reconstruct broken and aging road infrastructure.Glass is mostly made up of sand which is never gonna be in crisis.
Artist's rendition
Though it seems quite fictitious, president and senators have given speech on the implementation of this plan.It not just powers roads but also has the capacity to power every home in United States if all roads are replaced with this panels made out of renewable resources and sand. The company is developing the technology in the silent corner.Federal Highway Administration and donations are supporting the company through money required for it's dispatch.Even though the challenges it poses, the challenges our aging roads are posing are pretty big.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Posting

This year i have taken DRIVERS EDUCATION.It is being taught by Mr Lange,Christopher.I expected to learn how to drive a car and till the date i think i have learned the basics of the cars.Although i don't know much about how to get a license.Teacher is grading by giving the most attention to in class participation. The interesting aspect of the class are my friends in that class.

Teacher teaches us through the powerpoint slides so technology is used well in the class.Mr Lange teaches us on how to drive a car and the basics of road laws.He teaches us through examples and gives us time.He teaches us about the laws on driving and when to do what.Mr lange.

Mr Lange does not let us talk.He change the seats whenever we try to talk.I have had Mr lange in my gym course. The class seems too long at times because the presentation sometimes gets boring. The good thing about the course is that there is almost negligible homework. There are no quizzes and the grades are only based on in class participation and tests.Powerpoint slides that he teaches us from

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

Copyright is a right given to anyone that has posted or written or created something originally. No one except that person who created it has the right to use it for for-profit purposes. It also protects the rights of licensed images and fair use applies on it.It allows people to use it for the educational purposes and other non-profit stuff but not to make money.
  Jibo,an intelligent family member

Jibo is the world’s first family robot that can remember faces, things and can communicate with you just like an average or above average person.Jibo can tell stories to kids with actions, can follow your orders and change itself according to the conditions. It can also call for you, hear you the texts and change it’s voice depending on the character.Jibo’s interface is more complicated than most other interfaces like Siri,Cortana and chinese zhizen. It has bluetooth,wifi,2 cameras, microphones,ARM based processor, lcd touchscreen and many other features. It has to be plugged in during use,but it’s battery life is well above 20 minutes.

This little, lightweight and intelligent robot is going to be available in markets from December 2015 at a price of around 200$ to 900$ depending on the features.
